Many years back, a couple of friends and I drove through Roland Park and Anne Tyler's neighborhood in Baltimore. We'd have wrecked on the spot if she'd happened to be outside, of that I have no doubt.

Now her lovely stone house is on the market. I wonder why no one thought to take a photo of her bookcases? Perhaps the realtor is of the same sort that sold Shirley Jackson's house?

What a lovely house. Though it is either very clean or no one is living it at the moment. Not even a toaster or a coffee maker on the kitchen counter!

  2. That's a great looking house but I'm astounded at the asking price. It's that kind of thing that reminds me how cheap houses are in this area compared to most of the rest of the country.

It's exactly the kind of house I would have picked out for Anne Tyler, though...
